AKC Note: This $8.3 million investment follows a previous Highland announcement at the end of 2013 of a $4 million investment at its Cheraw plant in SC. The Statesville plant will be a new facility and a new business venture around specialty engineered fibers such as carbon fibers, aramids and fiberglass. At the recent Techtextil exhibition in Atlanta, Highland had some of its carbon fiber products on display.
